restarded again...this time going for a sword and board/ champion/ tank
range turned out to be kinda useless, and focusing on just one weapon tree seems to work better instead of two(dual wield/archery)

P.S-two handed SUCKS! soo slow and the dps doesnt even compare to dual wield

My dual wield specialty rogue/assasin/duelist destroys all! Evasion (20% chance of evading all attacks) kicks ass, and with the new scale armor set ive got he can shrug of spells whilst backstabbing at ridiculously high DPS....with posion blades

I've just fought two epic battles against the largest enemies (won't mention what for spoiler purposes) and breezed through them - think i've got a good party setup tho:

1 Tank (heaviest armor, highest defence, draws the fire)
1 healer (buffs the tank)
1 backstabber (me, picks off from behind)
1 mage damager (debuffs and throws ice/fire etc)

This seems to work really well, one great tip i'd recommend is find the certain shops that sell unlimited elfroot and lyrium dust, and craft yourself a shitload of basic mana and health pots - that way your two mages can munch on them like candy during battles!

i've FINALLY decided the best dps character *at least i think*
going with human rogue: gonna up my str and con to 20 and thats it for those two
i think i'll put my willpower to about 25 or so
and then...dexterity/cunning will be like in the 50's/ 40's
for dual weilding, gonna get the 1st and 2nd branch (since i find that momentum is the only useful talent in the third branch)
specializations will be assassin/ duelist (instead of assassin, maybe bard?)
will get the 1st and 2nd rogue branches and only 1 for deft hands---> gonna use leliana as my lockpick junkie
and u may find this weird, but been web surfing the forums for DAO, and statistsics show double daggers have better DPS than double longswords--->they're faster, and cunning determines their damage or somthing like that, so gonna go with that
also going with light armor---> gonna go for the drakescale superior (haha been looking on forums more than u think)
P.S- im not gonna do herbalism/trapmaking---> just gonna do the perception thing, persuasive thing, and the combat specialization

wat u guys think bout this build (mainly asking ike)?

Should be fine yoshi - lackeys can do trapmaking/herbalism - just make sure your rogue is doing what he does best (backstab!)
I also found it a bit harder at the beginning - once you get up levels a bit you become a juggernaut of destruction (xnix that juggernaut armor is ridiculous when combined with the shield mastery, my tank is like a rock....a ridicolously buffed rock)
Get lethality asap - it changes weapon damage to dex/cun instead of str/dex.

Apart from that - talk to everyone and enjoy the storyline, play it out as your character would, I see theres some interesting ways of doing things that I passed up on cos my character is a smooth talker. (out to please everyone, and maximise his rewards at the same time =0 )

(p.s - the healer mage will make your group much hardier!)

Oh one kinda cheaty tip (although I think its ok as my main char didn't use any of them) is when you see books of specialisation (like ranger/templar etc) quicksave-->buy them-->quickload. You'll have the specialisation still without having to fork out 12 gold for em. More cash to spend on the manuals at 25 gold (I spend way too much...ive got about 10 silver left at the moment )
